Every school in the NCAA I've seen a rear view photo of since the September 11th, 2001 tragedy has used the American Flag decal. If I'm not mistaken, I think everyone has used the very same decal. In addition to the flag, Akron included a small thin stripe down the center of their helmets that was not a normal part of their uniform. This gave the helmet a patriotic red, white, blue stripe pattern. See the main page for an example of Notre Dame using a flag decal.
